Ancient and noble Tuscan family ascribed to the nobility in Pisa has spread over the centuries in different regions of Italy where there are some cognominal variations such as Storto, Lostorto, Daltorto, del Torto ... A Giorgio from Torto supported the place by Marquardo Patriarch of Aquileja, general captain of Imperat. Charles IV in Tuscany in 1365. Michel-Angelo and Vincenzo, sons of Ranieri, dressed in 1700 the dress of the knights of S. Stefano, of which Order the first was elected great treasurer in 1728.
