Familia de Campania, de clara y antigua virtud, reconocida noble por el emperador Carlos VI, en el año 1713, con la fórmula de los cuatro antepasados paternos y maternos. Aprobada en la Orden de Malta, fue decorada con el título de Belvedere, por reconocimiento obtenido con DM el 16 de julio de 1897, y, por sucesión de la familia Severino Longo y Caraffa, decorada con el título de Conde de Policastro. Añadió el apellido Brayda para el matrimonio de Carlo (n. 1753, dic. 18279 con la nobleza Francesca Brayda. La familia está registrada en el Libro de Oro de Nob. Ital. Y en la Lista de Off. Nob. Ital. Con los títulos de noble y predicado de Belvedere (mf.) No podemos, además, guardar silencio sobre ese Antonino, nacido en Sorrento, el 14 de abril de 1792, por Giacinto, presidente del Gran Tribunal Penal, y por Dorotea Guerritore, abogada incansable, condecorada,
