Antica e nobile famiglia toscana, con residenza nella città di Firenze, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Tal casato, sempre, si illustrò per gli importanti personaggi, a cui diede i natali. Tra questi, ricordiamo: Luca, Primario Lettore nella Regia Università di Napoli, Regio Protomedico del Regno, Conte Palatino, Consigliere Promotoriale dell'Accademia degli Spensierati, vivente nel 1638; Don Bruno, abate vallombrosano, nato in Firenze, il 2 novembre 1656 ed entrato, nel 1676, fra i Monaci di Vallombrosa, ove si dedicò interamente alla Botanica ed alla Storia Naturale, scomparso, all'età di 87 anni, il 29 gennaio 1743; Giambattista, nel 1758 luogotenente dal governo in Sassuolo, nel 1765 al Finale, nel 1768 capitano di ragione in Garfagnana, nel 1772 in Correggio, ed alcuni anni dopo luogotenente del governo di Carpi; Dott.
