Assai antica è la famiglia d'Imola, la quale fino dal 9 dic. 1508 fu aggregata al Consiglio di quella città nella persona di Pietro Paolo. Detto Consiglio componevasi di 60 consiglieri, fra i quali 12 di essi si chiamavano gonfalonieri di giustizia ed erano scelti dalle fam. più distinte della città, denominate anche fam. baldacchinesche o magnatizie. Nel 1513 il predetto Pier Paolo passò a far parte dei gonfalonieri; l'8 dic. 1557 con Bartolomeo; nel 1625 con altro Bartolomeo; il 24 aprile 1679 con altro Pier Paolo, che dopo rinunziò a Ciro, suo nipote il posto di gonfaloniere. Nel 1735, il conte Alessandro, e il conte Giuseppe, di Alessandro, e il conte Giuseppe, di Alessandro, e il conte Giuseppe, di Alessandro, furono gonfalonieri di giustizia nel Consiglio d'Imola, e nello stesso anno il conte Ciro, di Giuseppe, e nel 1784, il conte Francesco, di Ciro, fecero parte del Consiglio.
