Ancient and illustrious Italian family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread over the centuries. According to what has been handed down, it is originally from Tramonti ("Tramunte" in Campania dialect), a town on the Amalfi coast where the progenitor of this lineage is believed to have been born. Of notable extraction, the Tramonte family moved to Sicily around the end of the 16th century, having obtained some lands from the sovereigns of the Kingdom of Naples, for the precious contributions given to the crown. Over time several collateral lines flourished, some of which moved to Lazio and Veneto. In Sicily, the most conspicuous branch of the lineage had residence in the Trapani area and, over the years, integrated itself better and better into the local aristocracy, having given birth to very esteemed individuals.
