Ancienne et illustre famille italienne, de vertu claire et ancestrale, qui s'est répandue dans le monde entier au fil des siècles. D'après ce qui a été transmis, il est originaire de Tramonti (« Tramunte » en dialecte de Campanie), une ville de la côte amalfitaine où serait né l'ancêtre de cette lignée. D'origine notable, la famille Tramonte s'installe en Sicile vers la fin du XVIe siècle, après avoir obtenu des terres des souverains du royaume de Naples, pour les précieuses contributions versées à la couronne. Au fil du temps, plusieurs lignes collatérales ont prospéré, dont certaines se sont déplacées vers le Latium et la Vénétie. En Sicile, la branche la plus remarquable de la lignée résidait dans la région de Trapani et, au fil des années, s'intégra de mieux en mieux dans l'aristocratie locale, donnant naissance à des individus très estimés.
