Famiglia d'antica e nobile origine, decorata da Carlo II, nel 1700, del titolo di marchese d'Introdacqua, in persona di Nicola Antonio, titolo riconosciuto con Regio Rescritto 24 aprile 1839. Un ramo, trasferitosi a Roma, ebbe nel 1832, dal Sommo Pontefice Gregorio XVI, il titolo di barone. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano col titolo di marchese d'Introdacqua, in persona di Francesco Maria, n. Sulmona 26 ottobre 1881, di Emanuele (n. ivi 17 maggio 1840, deced. 26 gennaio 1891) e di Elisabetta Agnese Faraglia (deced.). Sorella: Maria Anna, n. Sulmona 26 ottobre 1881, spos. con Celestino Falciari. I cognomi così antichi rendono decoro non solo alle famiglie ma anche alle città che li hanno accolti; pare siano, infatti, molto riguardevoli i soggetti viventi di questa famiglia che, con tanto decoro, sostentano questo nobile cognome, che ha avuto vari soggetti illustri.
