Messinesische Familie aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, gegründet in Messina von einem Polidoro, Anhänger von König Alfons von Aragon, bei der Eroberung des Königreichs Neapel und Vater von Giorgio, dem berühmten Hauptmann der Milizen von Francesco Sforza. Von diesen abstammen: Louis, Sekretär und Berater von König John von Aragon; Giuseppe, der sich im Unternehmen der Isola delle Gerbi aus eigener Überzeugung gegen die Türken meldete; Ein anderer Giuseppe war 1775 Konsistorialrat und 1784 Richter am Grand Court in Palermo. Diese Familie besaß die Baronien Banderia und Villa Marchese und trug 1592 die Gewohnheit Maltas. Matteo war am 5. Oktober 1791 der letzte Investierte des Baronentitels der Villa Marchese. Die Familie wird generisch in die offizielle italienische Nobelliste von 1922 mit dem Titel Baron von Villa Marchese (mpr.), Persönlich der Scheiben, eingetragen. ab dem zuletzt investierten Matteo sagte.
