Distinguished family, of ancient nobility. The Trinci were, in fact, lords of Foligno with the title of gonfalonieri and captains of the people from 1305 to 1356, and with that of papal vicars until 1439. The first to usurp the lordship of the homeland was Nello, who since 1303 was head of the Guelfi di Foligno, and he was succeeded in that domain by eight individuals of his family, the last of whom was Corrado III who, taken prisoner, together with his sons Nicolò and Ugolino, by Cardinal Vitelleschi, Pope's legate, were all by order of this strangled in the castle of Soriano in 1441. This family gave the church five bishops, four of whom were from Foligno, that is, Paolo elected in 1326, Rinaldo in 1365, Onofrio in 1399, and Eugene in 1403, and one of Spoleto, Pietro created in 1406 by Pope Clement V. A Paolo, observant friar minor, who died in 1391 is revered in the altars with the title of blessed. Florence was a mayor in 1386; an Offredo captain and judge of Orvieto in 1337; a Ciolo, podestà of Gualdo de 'Cattani, in 1338; and a Giacomuccio podestà of Montefalco in 1398. Right weapon: Golden, with two heads and horse necks leaning against black, bridled with red. Cimiero: A black horse's head and neck, bridled with red.
