Família emiliana antiga, da região de Piacenza, de virtude clara e ancestral, que, segundo alguns autores, seria um ramo colateral da nobre família Rubini, originária do lago Maggiore e à qual, com um diploma de 13 de abril de 1706, foi concedida, por Filipe V, rei da Espanha e duque de Milão, na pessoa de Pietro-Giacomo, o título de contagem acima da terra e feudo de Colico, transmissível aos descendentes masculinos legítimos em ordem infinita por direito de nascimento e, na ausência de descendentes, transmissíveis a Don Giovanni cavaleiro de S. De qualquer forma, de acordo com o que nos é entregue, a família Trubini foi admitida no patrocínio de sua própria terra, seguindo os fiéis serviços prestados aos farneses desde os primeiros anos ducal.
