Antichissima famiglia fiesolana, proprietaria di vasti latifondi in quel di Figline (Valdarno), dove aveva dato il suo nome a un vilaggio e ad una contrada presso la costa di Firenze, chiamata "Via Monte Cuccoli". Un ramo di questa famiglia al tempo della famosa pestilenza descritta dal Boccaccio (1348) era trasmigrata in Croazia, dove aveva sempre ottenuto nobile trattamento, e un Capitano C. era comandante di un distaccamento delle truppe Austriache venute in Toscana nel 1800. Il ramo rimasto in Italia aveva cotratto cospicui parentadi ed era stato insignito di ragguardevoli cariche pubbliche, pel qual motivo la Magistratura Civica di Fiesole aveva proposto al Granduca Leopoldo II, che lo aveva consentino con suo rescritto 14 giugno 1839, di conferire la Nobiltá Fiesolana al dottore Filippo, di Giuseppe, di Francesco, Cancelliere Comunitativo di Firenze, e a i suoi nipoti ex frate dott.
