Il Galluppi dice che, di questa illustre ed antica famiglia di Messina, si hanno notizie sin dal secolo XVI. Un Alessandro Tundo, figlio di Andrea e di Giuseppa Orioles da Rometta, con privilegio dato il 29 ottobre 1727, reso esecutorio il 2 febbraio 1729, ottenne il titolo di barone di Margi. Sposò Angela Lombardo, e fu padre di Antonino, che divenne marito di Concetta Arces e padre di un altro Alessandro. Sposò questi, Violante Paparado, figlia di Francesco principe del Parco e di Gaetana Avarna dei conti di Castroello, e fu padre di Andrea, marito di Eleonora Casella Bosurgi. Ferdinando Casella, fu senatore di Messina negli anni 1853-54, sposò Giuseppa Giorgianni e come erede universale del dottor Giovanni Brigandi, per testamento 14 maggio 1850, con la condizione di chiamarsi Brigandi Tundo, antepose al cognome il cognome Brigandi. Eugenio Giorgianni, marito di Francesco Mangano, fu iscritto nell'elenco definitivo siciliano
