La familia Turri nació de los patricios garfagnana de Reggio, se decía que venían de Milán en la antigüedad, y que con las familias Torri, Torriani y Dalla Torre tenían un solo stock; pero esto no solo no está probado de ninguna manera; pero es solo un nacimiento de fantasía. A principios de siglo. XVIII tenemos noticias de documentos de los hermanos Lorenzo y Jacopo Turri, de Castelnuovo Garfagnana. Este último sería el progenitor de la familia. En la Biblioteca Reggio E. hay un voluminoso manuscrito de más de 200 páginas con árboles genealógicos y muchos documentos escritos a mano e impresos, con información histórica de la familia, preparados por el dr. Próspero Fantuzzi de Reggio alrededor de 1836, luego continuó y se actualizó hasta alrededor de 1859, con muchos detalles, incluso de poca importancia. A la familia se le otorgó la nobleza en la persona del dr. el físico
