La famiglia Ubarberini, per il Pontificato di 21 anni di Papa Urbano VIII, è tanto nota al mondo che nulla più. Viene senza controversia da Firenze e gli storici di questo secolo, hanno scritto molto della sua nobiltà, ad altri rievocata in dubbio. Abbia la verità il suo luogo. Il Bandini rispose che egli andava da Firenza molti anni e ne uscì molto giovane, e perciò non poterne dar conto. Capponi ed Ubaldi, più arditi, risposero assolutamente, che erano gentiluomini Fiorentini come descritti nel loro Priorista. La risposta di questi Cardinali fu cagione, che fossero disgraziato in tutto il Pontificato di Urbano, ed odiate in supremo il marchese di Courè,
