L'ancienne maison Usimbardi de Florence, déjà consulaire, échoua dans le tumulte des guerres civiles du XIIIe siècle ; mais une branche de celui-ci avait déjà été transplantée à Colle, et en 1588 il fut par décret du magistrat suprême reconnu par lui comme descendant. Usimbardo évêque de Colle, Pietro évêque d'Arezzo et Lorenzo secrétaire de Ferdinando I puis sénateur, tous frères et fils de Messer Francesco, appartenaient à cette branche. Fulvio, un autre frère, fonda le prieuré de Colle dans l'Ordre de Saint-Étienne et eut un fils avec lequel la famille mourut au milieu du XVIIe siècle.
