Fiorì con assai nobiltà, e ricchezze la famiglia A. in Sicilia, e nella Città di Catania; hebbe elle principio da Henrico A. cavalier Tedesco, che passò con l'Imperator Henrico sesto, dal quale hebbe il reggimento di essa Città di Catania, ed hebbe per moglie la figlia di Giovanni Leontino, che gli partorì Rodorico che fù paggio dell'Imperator Federico secondo, da costui ne nacquero Henrico, e Roggiero, che servirono di gentilhuomini di camera alla Reina Helena moglie del Rè Mamfredo, e'l predetto Henrico poi fù eletto dal medesmo Rè Pietro primo uno de' Baroni della Città di Catania: hebbe egli per moglie a Corrada Castelli, che gli partorì Federico, Guglielmo, o Roggiero, che così sotto il Rè Federico secondo, come il Rè Pietro secondo in molta stima vissero. Dal predetto Federico ne nacquero Roggiero, e Guglielmo che fù Masto giustitiero nel 1398. Però il Roggiero fù Straticò di Messina nel 1383
