Famille qui semble n'avoir eu aucune communauté d'origine avec les premiers seigneuries d'Usson éteints dans les de la Roue. Gilles et Jean frères, étaient l'un et l'autre chanoines de St-Vosy en 1460 et 1466. Vidal marchand, devint consul du Puy en 1568 et Jean, notaire, également consul en 1592. Autre Vidal est qualifié notaire royal de Chamalières en 1669. François laissa: Jean (mort avant 1695), seigneur de Granou, du Rhuilier de Chamalières, etc. (par alliance avec l'héritière des Girard du Rhuilier), Claude seigneur de Granou près Chamalières, de Dinhac paroisse de Roche-en-Régnier, est inscrit en 1696, dans l'Armorial général de d'Hozier. Il avait épousé, le 23 décembre 1695, Anne de la Chassaigne de Sereys, dame de Villedieu, et en eut: Jeanne-Marie de Granou, dame du Rhuilier, qui s'allia le 12 avril 1719 à Jean Jourda de Vaux seigneur de Chabanolles et transmit à sa postérité la terre du Rhuilier. Un sous-prieur du couvent de St-Gilles (1700).
