Ascritta al Consiglio nobile di Padova nel 1081, occupò i primi posti in patria. Ebbe la signoria dei feudi del Vescovato, e possedette il villaggio di Vò dal quale trasse anche il nome. Acquistossi il favore dei tiranno Ecelino, ma ne provò eziandio la barbarie e tale che quasi ebbe ad estinguersi. Ritirata in Este, colà tuttora fiorisce. Gnanfo dei Gnanfi, console di Padova nel 1182; Ubertino sindaco nel 1233; Angelo distinto letterato; Cristoforo deputato d'Este. Altre famiglie fiorirono in varie regioni: da Bologna, il commendator G.B. di Crollalanza riporta la blasonatura di questa famiglia nei volumi del suo Dizionario storico blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane, da Padova.
