Maison possessionnée à La Chaise-Dieu, comprise au ban de la noblesse d'Auvergne en 1543. Clauda, épouse de Géraud Marcland, seigneur de Surgères, avait pour frères Claude, Pierre et André. Claude (1500-1572), seigneur dudit lieu, marié à Méraulde de Tremeuges, laissa: Anne alliée le 25 juillet 1572 à Guillaume de Cabannes, écuyer, seigneur de Sauron près Berbezit et Clauda, dame et héritière de Valards, marié le 15 octobre 1567, à Antoine de Varènes, seigneur dudit lieu, paroisse de Sugères, dont la postérité, connue sous le nom de la Varènes de Valards, s'éteignit dans les de Bonneville-Chapteuil. Pierre, frère de Claude, écuyer, seigneur de la Révolte (1500-1565), épousa Marguerite de Myet et fut l'auteur de J. B. de Valards, chevalier, seigneur de la Révolte, Varette, etc., capitaine au régiment de Navarre, mort en 1733. Maintenue en Auvergne le 17 mars 1667.
