Famiglia che nulla ha che fare con altre omonime famiglie vicentine e che fu ascritta a quel nobile Consiglio sin da tempo assai remoto e fu decorata anche del titolo comitale. Questa famiglia discende da Bartolomeo Antonio, che fu aggregata al nobile Consiglio della città nel 1795. Fu confermata nobile con S.R. 24 nov. 1820. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobilare Italiano col titolo di nobile (di Vicenza) (mf.), in persona dell'ult. ricon. Bartolomeo Antonio, di Francesco (1841). La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata in quei detti arguti che venivano scritti sui vessilli o bandiere dei cavalieri, esposti alle finestre delle locande in cui questi alloggiavano, in occasione dei tornei, e durante i tornei stessi. Il motto era un pensiero espresso in poche parole facente
