Originaria di Siena, un Baldo signore del Castello di Sioli nel comune di Gubbio nel XII secolo fu giudice della Repubblica di Siena, ed invaghitosi dell'unica figlia della contessa di Peciano di Cortona, la ottenne in isposa. Da questo matrimonio ebbe origine in Cortona la nuova famiglia dei conti di Peciano che dal suddetto Baldo si dissero poi Baldelli; famiglia tuttora fiorente in quella città. . Un ramo fiorì anche nel Perugino, ov'eresse il castello di Montignana. Ebbero la signoria dei feudi di Tregivolo, di Pecciano e di Siolo. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia della Lombardia, la cui residenza e situata a Bergamo. Altra famiglia alzò per arma. Spaccato d'azzurro e d'argento, alla fascia in divisa di rosso attraversante sulla partizione; con tre fiori di ..., moventi da una collinetta di verde ed attraversante sul tutto.
