Diego Méndez de V., caballero de hábito de Santa Catalina del Monte Sinaí de Jerusalén y Doña Mencía de Nava, hija legítima de los señores de la Casa de Nava, se establecieron en la ciudad de Oviedo a su regreso de la peregrinación al Santo Sepulcro Sus enterramientos se encuentran en el Monasterio de San Francisco. Su hijo Pedro de V., heredó las dos Torres de San Cucado, antiguo solar de este linaje, y casó Doña Sacha de Solís, siendo sus hijos: Hernando de V. de la Torre, Fernando de V. de Portilla y Pedro de V. Punil, Capitán de hombres de armas. Hernando de V. contrajo matrimonio con Doña María de Salas, siendo sus hijos, entre otros, Fernando de V de la Torre, Pedro de V. y Doña María de V. Fernando
