Ancienne et très noble famille piémontaise, décurional "de populo" de Cuneo, déjà présente dans la liste de 1535, répartie, au cours des siècles, dans diverses régions d'Italie. La noblesse évidente de la famille, dont les membres, en 1565, furent parés du titre de Comtes Palatins, est attestée par sa présence dans l'ouvrage précieux, de JB Rietstap, "L'Armorial Général". La famille a pris les armes. D'argent, à cinq épis d'or, stylisés et feuillagés de vert, disposés sur une terrasse de même, et accompagnés en tête de trois étoiles du second ; avec la tête d'Anjou. Alias. En rouge, à deux perches d'or, avec la tête de la seconde, chargée d'un aigle noir, bicéphale et couronné sur les deux têtes. Autre branche. Noble famille de Saorgio, qu'il a élevée pour les armes. Tronqué, d'or, avec l'aigle en noir, bicéphale et couronné sur les deux têtes, et d'or, avec deux pôles de rouge.
