Antica famiglia ascritta alla nobiltà di Assisi in persona di Jacobetti, che ottenne la nobiltà di Fabriano. Riconosce come capostipite un Francesco, vissuto tra il 1350 ed il 1400. Un Antonio ed un Giovanni Battista, fratelli, ebbero il titolo di conte prima da Vittorio Amedeo II di Savoia il 25 aprile 1682, poi da Giovanni III Re di Polonia, il 10 febbraio 1694. Questi concesse il privilegio di accollare l'arma all'aquila bianca di Polonia. Da una memoria che nel 1776 la Magistratura di Fabriano inviava al S.M.O. di Malta, Gran Priorato di Roma, sono ricordati tra le famiglie di Fabriano un Giovanni, marchese di Camarzano e Pellicciaro, cavaliere dei SS. Maurizio e Lazzaro; un conte Antonio, che aggiunse anche il cognome Mannelli, e un capitano Tiburzio. Sono da ricordare inoltre: Giuseppe, arcivescovo di Atene, prefetto dei SS.
