Esta familia se cuenta entre la familia más antigua y famosa de la provincia de Cataluña, y surgió en la época del emperador Carlomagno. A Guglielmo Valseca fue Vicecanciller de ese Principado, bajo el mando del Rey Pietro de Aragón, Giaime Valseca fue un claro Doctor en Derecho de su tiempo, Leonardo y Ruggero vivieron con el grito de valientes Capitanes. Una rama de la familia pasó a Mallorca en 1480, y la última fue un Luigi, quien murió en 1536 dejando a su hijo Perotto. Esto, hecho ciudadano de Palermo, disfrutó de muchas cargas nobles y fue juez del pretoriano RC en la cascada del puente.
