E' annoverata questa famiglia tra le più antiche, e celebri famiglia della Provincia della Catalogna, e sorse ai tempi dell'imperatore Carlo Magno. Un Guglielmo Valsecca fu Vice Cancelliere di quel Principato, sotto il Re Pietro d'Aragona, Giaime Valsecca fu chiaro Dottor di Legge de' suoi tempi, Leonardo e Ruggero vissero col grido di valorosi Capitani. Un ramo della famiglia passò in Maiorca nel 1480, e l'ultimo d'essa fu un Luigi, che morì nel 1536 lasciando il figlio Perotto. Questo, fattosi Cittadino Palermitano, godé di molti nobili carichi, e fu Giudice della R.C. Pretoriana nella cascata del Ponte. Lodovico, suo figlio, fu buon dottore, e Giudice di detta R.C. Pretoriana nel 1591, nel qual carico continuò fino all'anno 1595. Passò dopo egli con i suoi fratelli Andrea, e Antonino in Modica, ai servizi dell'Almirante di Castiglia, quindi fu più volte Luogotenente del Governatore di quello Stato, si casò con Isabella Mazzara,
