Antica famiglia veneta, di chiara ed avita nobiltà, con residenza nella città di Padova, la quale, nel 1898, fu insignita del titolo di nobile. La famiglia alzò per arme. Troncato: nel primo di rosso al mastio di fortezza d'argento di due piani, merlato alla ghibellina, fondato nella pianura erbosa al naturale, sostenente un'aquila di nero; nel secondo mareggiato con una barca vogante con tre rematori, il tutto al naturale. Alias. D'argento ad un monte di verde sostenente due leoni al naturale affrontati e tenenti un pane di rosso. Lo scudo in cuore dell'aquila bicipite. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia, detta Valvassori, Valvasori, Vavassori e, in Slovenia, Valvasor, originaria di Telgate, la quale, già proprietaria di feudo con castello che successivamente passò ai conti Marenzi, non solo acquistò notorietà per il ruolo legato alla denominazione "valvassore", termine di onore e di importanza in gergo feudale, e per il vescovo monsignor
