Quien fuera el principal ascendiente y tronco propagador de este ilustre linaje se ignora por su remota antigüedad, siendo por tanto, tradicional e inmorial la nobleza de sus hijos, los cuales han gozado siempre en todas partes de la consideración y preeminencias correspondientes, en sus lustrosos nacimientos; no siendo la menos esclarecida de sus líneas la que se arraigó y floreció en Canarias. Como descendiente de este ilustre apellido está el legendario y famoso Garci Pérez de V. que en la conquista de Sevilla alcanzó el dictado de Machuca, por el gran estrago que hiciera entre las huestes moras. Sancho de V. valeroso Conquistador de Gran Canaria y Tenerife, varón legítimo de la Casa de V. de Madrid, fue Alcalde Mayor de la isla del Teide en 1506 y uno de sus Regidores en 1505. Contrajo dos matrimonios el Conquistador Sancho de Vargas: el primero con Catalina Vázquez
