Originaria di Bologna, questa famiglia, fu portata in Sicilia da un Giovan Battista, che acquistò il feudo di S. Benedetto o Ranciditi, del quale fu investito il 6 aprile 1650. Un Giuseppe, barone di S. Benedetto, senatore di Palermo nell'anno 1700-701, comprò presso il notaio Domenico Sarcì, in data 19 ottobre 1708, dai fidecommissari dell'eredità di Luigi Osorio, il titolo di marchese di Analista e ne fu investito il 25 dicembre dello stesso anno. Alla sua morte, dopo aver celebrato il suo testamento presso notar Benedetto Coppola e Messana, il 4 novembre 1712, gli successe il figlio Giovan Battista, che ottenne l'investitura del titolo di marchese d'Analista, il 25 febbraio 1716, e morì senza figli, tanto che, il 20 giugno 1723, ottenne investitura del titolo di marchese il di lui fratello, Domenico.
