Patrizi Veneti. Illustre famiglia dogale. A Venezia, nella chiesa dei S.S. Giovanni e Paolo, trovasi il mausoleo del Doge Andrea, celebre opera di Tullio Lombardo del 1493. Nell'ex Cattedrale di Venezia, San Pietro di Castello, trovasi la Cappella Vendramin, opera del Longhena B., con le statue del Barthel Melchiorre, raffiguranti Paolo V che impone il Cappello Cardinalizio a Francesco V. Nel 1228 "Aquilese" (detto) combatté valorosamente contro i Turchi nell'isola di Candia nella furiosa battaglia di Milopotamo, perdendo la vita. Nel 1381 iscrizione al patriziato Veneto di Andrea che si rese benemerito della Repubblica di Venezia al tempo della pericolosa Guerra contro i Genovesi venendo ammesso a pieni voti al Gran Consiglio. Nei suoi commerci con l'Egitto, aveva come marchio una mezza luna con una stella. Un altro Andrea fu il LXXI Doge di Venezia dal 1476 al 1478. Il Papa Sisto IV nel 1477 gli conferisce la prima Rosa
