Ancient and noble family from the Kingdom of Naples, known as Ventura or Venturo, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. It had its cradle in the city of Naples but in the fifteenth century it moved to Sicily with an Antonuccio, a soldier of King Alfonso of Aragon, who set up his residence in Catania in 1441. His descendants moved to Chiaramonte, where they occupied the primary city offices. At the end of the sixteenth century, a Francesco became general commissioner of security against bandits and smugglers in the Kingdom. From another Francesco, former owner of the fief of Pozzo del Baldo, descended Filippo, governor and captain general of the county of Modica, who in 1684 obtained the title of baron of Lago for himself and his descendants.
