Familia originaria de Venosa, señor feudal, y agregada a la primera Orden Cívica de la ciudad de Matera en Basilicata, que fue recibida en la Orden SM de Malta, desde 1710, con Fabio di Matera (Orden Arch. Malta 4894-4895); en 1714 como cuarto de la familia Carducci (Archivos del Estado, Nápoles vol. 37, Priorato de Barletta); en 1745 como cuarto de la familia Lamberti (Arch. Orden de Malta, 4405); y en la rama de Barletta en 1757 como cuarto del caballero Saverio Pappalettere (Arch. Ord. malta 4590). Fue decorada con el título de Marqués de Turi (provincia de Bari) desde el 28 de agosto de 1797.
