Jacopo Maria Fioravanti nelle sue "Memorie storiche della città di Pistoia" scrive all'anno 1331: "Mentre i Pistoiesi soccorrevano e con denaro, e con gente i Fiorentini nell'assedio di Lucca, contro Gio: Re di Boemia Vicario Imperiale in Italia, pensarono a procacciare a quelli nuovi vantaggi; lo che per mandare ad effetto, pregarono con ogni efficacia Simone di Filippo Reali loro Concittadino Signore di Gaddi, e Montechiaro nel Piemonte, e Lugotenente per detto Re in quella Città, e residente al governo della medesima, ad abbandonare quel posto, e a non volere più ingerirsi nelle cose del detto Re, come nemico de' Fiorentini; ma stando il Reali forte nella fede giurata a quel Monarca, e riprovando simile esortazione, sgridò, e riprese con responsiva de' 22 Marzo 1331, i suoi Pistoiesi, quali pensando agli altri avvantaggi trascuravano i propri, e nutrivano nella loro Città le sedizioni; poichè quantunque pacificati con i Fiorentini non
