Vengono da Castel del Piano e furono ascritti in Siena al Monte del Popolo, ottenendo i supremi onori del governo nel 1597, in persona di Mario di Persio. Domenico fu addottorato in Siena nel 1554. Servì il papa Giulio III e, dopo lui, rimase alle dipendenze di altri 13 papi, fino a Gregorio XV. fu luogotenente criminale del Senatore di Roma. Fiscale e di Campidogli e Giudice della Appellagioni. In queste cariche gli succedette il nipote Polidoro. Mario di Giovan Battista fu capitano al servizio dei veneziani; tornato in patria fu nominato alfiere della fortezza di Portoferraio. Marco di Giovan Domenico, in ricompensa dei servigi prestati alla sua città durante l'invasione francese, fu dal Granduca Ferdinando III decorato dell'Ordine di S. Giuseppe, fondato da quel sovrano durante il suo esilio in Wurzburg. Furono ascritti alla Nobiltà senese con decreto del 27 agosto 1753. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco Ufficiale
