Famiglia originaria di Mondovì. L'avvocato Stefano Camillo (deceduto, il 14 maggio 1833), di Filippo Giacomo, il quale ebbe la carica di intendente di Mondovì il 14 febbraio 1797, e quindi di intendente il 12 aprile 1816, acquistò il 21 ottobre 1814 dal marchese Ceva di S. Michele parte dell'antico feudo di S. Michele e ne chiese il riconoscimento, che però non ottenne (27 febb. 1820). Per i servizi prestati e per l'alleanza con nobili famiglie fu creato barone il 25 maggio 1824. Fu suo figlio Paolo Filippo (nato a Mondovì il 25 gennaio 1801, deceduto a Torino il 10 marzo 1885) sostituto avvocato fiscale al consolato di Torino, sostituto procuratore generale (12 febbraio 1830), effettivo (30 aprile 1844), consigliere alla Corte dei Conti, il quale fu riconosciuto nel titolo con Decreto Ministeriale 11 giugno 1879.
