Ancienne et noble famille espagnole, originaire de Murcie, de vertu claire et ancestrale, avec deux branches principales, en Castille et dans le sud de l'Italie, qui s'est répandue dans le monde entier, au cours des siècles. En Espagne, les membres de cette famille se sont distingués dans les Ordres de Santiago, Calatrava, Alcantara, Montesa, Carlos III et Saint Jean de Jérusalem (il s'agit d'un ordre religieux militaire fondé au XIe siècle). Une branche de cette maison s'est déplacée en Italie, précisément en Sicile, avec un Antonino Vicente, communément appelé Vincenzo, qui a suivi Frédéric II comme chef militaire et qui a été créé en 1330 capitaine de sauvetage de la vallée de Mazzara et des milices de Trapani. A Giovanni était sénateur à Trapani en 1432-33; un Antonino possédait le fief de Racalmaymari, dont Giacomo, le fils, reçut l'investiture le 2 juillet 1453 ; un Corvino était capitaine de justice
