Ancient and noble Spanish family, originally from Murcia, of clear and ancestral virtue, with two main branches, in Castilla and in Southern Italy, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. In Spain, the members of this family distinguished themselves in the Orders of Santiago, Calatrava, Alcantara, Montesa, Carlos III and Saint John of Jerusalem (it is a military religious order founded in the 11th century). A branch of this House moved to Italy, precisely to Sicily, with an Antonino Vicente, commonly called Vincenzo, who followed Frederick II as a military leader and who was created in 1330 rescue captain of the Valley of Mazzara and of the militias of Trapani.
