Originaire de Flandre, et transplanté à Crémone au XVe siècle. Il donna à la patrie trois décurions ; Giovanni in Croce, élu en 1619, et le marquis Paolo, tribun des soldats, élu en 1653. Cette famille compte deux cardinaux, Girolamo créé par Ubano VIII en 1627, et Pietro qui, après avoir été évêque de Lodi pendant 16 ans, fut élevée à la saera pourpre par Alexandre VII en 1660. L'arme de la famille Vidoni est : L'argent, à la tour de rouge crénelée de quatre pièces de style gibelin, ouverte et fenêtrée du champ, fondée sur la plaine herbeuse, et à la verte vigne, blanc naturel fructueux; à la porte de la tour, et accolante, il dit vigne entrant et sortant par les fenêtres de la tour, dont il couronne le sommet.

D'argento, alla torre di rosso merlata di quattro pezzi alla ghibellina, aperta e finestrata del campo, fondata sulla pianura erbosa, ed alla vite di verde, fruttifera di bianco al naturale; alla porta della torre, ed accollante, detta vite entrando ed uscendo per le finestre della torre, di cui corona la cima.
