Famiglia originaria di Rovato, in provincia di Brescia; ivi viveva nel 1430 un Bonomo "de Ziliis seu de Tartaionibus"; da questi nacque Piccino, che viveva ancora nel 1475, padre di Giovanni e avo di Lorenzo e Baldassarre. Lorenzo Vigli era uno dei Consoli di Rovato, nel 1509. Al momento della occupazione dei francesi di Gastone di Foix, non potendo sopportare le prepotenze e i soprusi di quegli stranieri, egli fu l'animatore di quella generosa rivolta del 7 agosto, quando a guisa dei Vespri Siciliani, i Francesi furono cacciati ed inseguiti a furore di popolo, dalla forte borgata. Al ritorno dello straniero il Lorenzo cadde nelle mani del nemico e fu decapitato nella pubblica piazza. Dal fratello, Baldassarre, nacque Lorenzo, in suo onore, nel 1548, che fu padre di Baldassarre (1588) marito della nobile Laura Pedrocca.
