Dans les jugements des intendants de Bordeaux portant maintenue de noblesse, rendus dans la période de 1697 à 171, figure le nom du seigneur de Villoutreys-de-Sainte-Marie; il se voit également dans la liste des votants pour les députés de la noblesse du Pèrigord, aux Etats-Généraux de 1789. Jean-François comte de Villoutreys, était ancien page de Louis XV et successivement cavalcadour du Roi et de Mesdames. Cette famille est représentée par le marquis de Villoutreys (Maine-et-Loire).
