Antigua familia siciliana, que disfrutó de nobleza en Trapani y Messina, desde el siglo XV, y a quien se le otorgó el título de barón de Moschitta, cuyo último invertido fue Domenico, en 1791. La familia está genéricamente registrada en la Lista Oficial italiana de 1922 con el título de Barón de Moschitta, en la persona de los descendientes de Domenico. Este antiguo linaje disfrutó de varios honores, incluidos los de la nobleza en Trapani, Messina y otras ciudades. En 1398 encontramos a un Raimondo Vinchio (léase vincio sin. Di vinco) considerado el progenitor de la familia en Sicilia y fue secretario adjunto de Sciacca (ver Conti Castagna 1.
