La casa Girona è nobilissima in Spagna come prova, che possiedono il ducato di Ossuna. Nota un ms. nominato, ma d'antichità veneranda che in Girona fu fondatore di Vagliadolid, e rende la ragione dell'Arme, raccontando l'istoria ove la presero. Però questa di Roma non credo che abbia dipendenza o connessione alcuna con quella. Del 1494 si legge del Catasto del Salvatore R. in Christo Pater D. Joannes Girone Clericus camerae Apostolicae sepultus ad Minervam. Nell'Arch. Cap. sotto li 29 giugno 1509, si legge: Testamentum Nobilis Dom. Thomasi de Gironibus, Civis Romani Regionis Pinease Latinus de Mascis Not. Hanno parentato colli Leni, colli Vittori, coli Cecchini con altre famiglie delle quali non ho notizia. Scrive del Gironi, Paolo Giovio nella vita di Papa Leone, di Papa Adriano e di Pompeo Colonna. Consalvo Gironi, fu maestro di campo in Fiandra sotto il duca Alessandro Farnese. Hanno la casa nel rione di Pigna
