Antiga família patrícia milanesa. Ele obteve a confirmação da nobreza com a Resolução Soberana de 21 de novembro de 1816 em favor de Luigi, Giuseppe, Felice. A genealogia verificada tem para o progenitor Eriprando (dezembro de 1609), que era o marido de Bianca Brebbia, em memória do qual e para se diferenciar dos outros V., a família acrescentou o sobrenome Brebbia ao seu e emoldurou suas armas. De Eriprando nasceu Cristoforo, vivendo em 1646, que se casou com Ottavia del Maino e teve Carlo Francesco. A partir disso e de Emilia Targone, sua esposa, Antonio, que era o marido de Barbara Pallavicino e o pai de Felice, veio à luz. Giuseppe Cristoforo ou Giuseppe nasceu de Felice, registrado na lista de patrícios milaneses em 1769 (Felice Calvi, patrício milanesa, Milão 1875, p. 447). Estes, de Giuseppa Garzia, sua esposa, tiveram o filho a favor do qual a confirmação de 1816
