Antica e nobile famiglia spagnola, di chiara e ancestrale virtù, che si è diffusa nel mondo nei secoli, con un ramo principale in Italia, fiorì intorno al XVII secolo. Secondo quanto tramandato, questa famiglia è originaria della Navarra ma i suoi membri per comprovare la loro nobiltà si rivolgono alla Cancelleria Reale di Valladolid, dalla quale ottennero il brevetto di nobiltà.
