Famiglia di cui si ha memoria in Traetto (Campania), fin dal 1288, con Vito, padre di Nicola, investito nel 1306 della dignità di Magister dal Pontefice Clemente V. Ebbe, dai Sovrani di Napoli, concessioni di terre nei pressi di Gaeta, con obbligo di fornire un armato. Aggiunse il cognome Piscicelli pel matrimonio di Francesco con Giulia Piscicelli. Riconosciuta, nel 1747, dalla R. Camera di Santa Chiara, di nobiltà generosa, in occasione delle prove di Francesco Piscicelli a cadetto nei Reggimenti Nazionali, e nelle prove di ammissione ai Reali Baciamano. Ed ancora riconosciuta nobile (mf.) con D.M. 1911. Con Regio decreto e Lettere Patenti 12 gugno 1930 Gioacchino, figliuolo del nobile Gaetano (deced. 1892) e di donna Maria Isabella Alvarez de Toledo dei marchesi di Villafranca e conti di Collesano (deced. 1897), fu autorizzata ad assumere e trasmettere il titolo di conte di Collesano (Sicilia) con anzianità dal 1444.

Sostegni: Due uomini selvaggi con la clava, affrontati.
