Un Giacomo Vizzamano, nativo di Treviso ma originario di Candia ed abitante in Venezia, al tempo della guerra di Chioggia contro i Genovesi, offrì alla Repubblica se stesso con un servo e di armare a tutte sue spese una galera con uomini da remo e con soldati e pagarli per due mesi con quattro ducati al mese per ciascuno, ed in premio di si generoso soccorso ottenne dal Senato, nel 1381, di essere aggregato al Consiglio con i suoi discendenti. Si spense nel 1711. Molte famiglie che dimoravano in Venezia appartenevano alla nobiltà. Nel Libro d'Oro della nobiltà veneta e ne il Patriziato Veneto dopo la guerra di Candia e la Serrata del Maggior Consiglio del 1646, eventi questi che lasciarono fama immortale per il grande senno politico e virtù cittadine, troviamo illustre questa famiglia.
