Un Giacomo Vizzamano, natif de Trévise mais natif de Candie et habitant de Venise, lors de la guerre de Chioggia contre les Génois, s'offrit lui-même à la République avec un serviteur et pour armer une galère de rameurs et de soldats coûte que coûte et de les payer pendant deux mois avec quatre ducats par mois pour chacun, et comme récompense d'une si généreuse aide il obtint du Sénat, en 1381, d'être agrégé au Conseil avec ses descendants. Il mourut en 1711. De nombreuses familles qui vivaient à Venise appartenaient à la noblesse.
