Famiglia originaria di Diano nella Riviera di Ponente che si trova in Genova nel secolo XIV, ed una branca di essa, oggi estinta, fu ascritta all'Albergo Cybo (1528). Tra i personaggi di tal casato meritano menzione: Giovanni, speziaro, anziano (1389), il quale figura nella convenzione trae Genova e Diano, Giacomo suo figlio, cancelliere al concilio di Costanza (1415), vescovo di Sagone (1420), commissario in Corsica per la riforma del clero (1425); Ettore, canonico in S. Nicolò a Diano Castello (1415); Battista, podestà di Portovenere (1422); Carlo, podestà di S. Remo (1451); Lamberto, podestà di Andora, (1502), Pietro Giovanni, sindaco di Diano (1504), Andrea, podestà del Cervo (1502); in questo tempo due monaci agostiniani, frate Alessandro qm. Gio. Francesco e frate Francesco qm. Alessandro, sono ritratti nel chiostro di S. Agostino in Genova; altro Francesco fu vicario in Corsica (1528); il capitano Francesco denunciò al governo
