Il cavaliere Piero Tomirch dà notizia di questa nobile famiglia che dice derivata dalla Spagna per un Giliberto X. uno dei cavalieri che seguirono re Maritno. Rammenta poscia un Ximenes X. capitano in un reggimento de' cavalieri gerosolimitani nell'aquisto della Sardegna. Fiorirono in Sicilia: Francesco secreto e capitano giustiziere di Nicosia 1518; altro Francesco giurato in Polizzi 1518; Antoinio barone di s. Carlo, ed altri che imparentarono con nobilissime famiglie. La famiglia X. è stata dichirata nobile per come risulta dal certificato dell'illustre Protonotaro. Viene oggi rappresentata da Antonio X. e Naselli barone dii s. Carlo senatore di Palermo nel 1824.
