Antica e nobile famiglia che si vuole oriunda dalla Spagna. Francesco Dalla Fabbra, nobile ferrarese, sposò Margherita Zanoli ed ebbe Luigi, illustre medico e scrittore, protomedico del Collegio di Ferrara, morto nel 1723 e Ippolito, che sposò Francesca dei Conti Loschi di Vicenza (1683-1758). Fu questi giureconsulto insigne e professore dapprima nella patria Università e poi in Venezia dove venne aggregato a quella cittadinanza con diploma 13 gennaio 1716. Recatosi a Madrid vi disimpegnò lodevolmente una importante missione affidatagli dal Gran Maestro del Sovrano Ordine di Malta. L'imperatore Carlo VII lo creò Conte Palatino insieme ai nipoti con diploma 29 luglio 1744 e l'imperatore Francesco I d'Austria gli confermò il 12 ottobre 1746 il titolo comitale ereditato dai Conti Loschi. Egidio ed Angelo furono medici di grande rinomanza e professori nell'Università di Ferrara.
